In conjunction with World Osteoporosis Day, The ELiTè Wellness collaborated with Curves Malaysia for an empowering educational session titled “Strength from Within: Moving Smart for Healthier Bones.”
Led by physiotherapist Elise Low, the 40-minute session gathered a small, intimate group of women aged 40 to 70 for an interactive discussion on osteoporosis — a silent condition that affects bone strength and mobility in many women.
Strength from Within – Moving Smart for Healthier Bones
The session aimed to raise awareness about maintaining strong and healthy bones through safe physical activity and good posture. Participants learned how regular weight-bearing and resistance exercises can help reduce the risk of fractures, particularly among women.
The talk also highlighted practical ways to incorporate bone-strengthening habits into daily routines, along with guidance on exercising safely and confidently at any age. Participants engaged actively in discussions and demonstrations designed to make movement more accessible and enjoyable.
The ELiTè Wellness remains committed to creating awareness on bone health, fall prevention, and the importance of physical activity for women and older adults across the Klang Valley.
In conjunction with World Physiotherapy Day, The ELiTè Wellness organized a community event on 6 September 2025 at Wisma WIM, TTDI, themed “Learn, Move & Connect.”
The session focused on raising awareness about the importance of movement and physiotherapy in supporting both physical and emotional well-being. Participants took part in light exercises, memory-based activities, and interactive sharing sessions led by Elise Low, Henri, Hoo Ming Huei, and Brian Ong, who provided practical insights on staying active and healthy in daily life.
World Physiotherapy Day 2025 Celebration
Beyond exercise, the event also created a warm space for our clients — especially older adults — to mingle, socialise, and build meaningful connections. It offered many an opportunity to get out of the house, interact with peers, and feel part of a supportive community.
It was a lively and engaging morning that reflected the true spirit of World Physiotherapy Day — celebrating movement, connection, and the joy of living well at every age.

What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)?
CTS happens when the median nerve—the nerve that controls sensation and movement in your thumb, index, middle, and ring fingers—gets compressed as it passes through the carpal tunnel in your wrist.
This can cause:
Numbness or tingling in your thumb and fingers.
Wrist pain that sometimes spreads up your arm.
Weakness in your hand, making it hard to grip objects.
Symptoms are often worse at night, and shaking your hand may bring temporary relief.
What Causes CTS?
The exact cause is not always clear, but certain factors increase your risk:
Repetitive hand movements: Typing, using tools (carpenter, chef, electrician).
Pregnancy or breastfeeding: Hormonal changes can affect the wrist.
Medical conditions: Diabetes, thyroid issues, arthritis.
Injuries: Wrist fractures or sprains.
How Can Physiotherapy Help?
For mild to moderate cases, physiotherapy can provide significant relief.
Pain Relief:
Techniques like laser therapy, massage, and dry needling can reduce pain and relax tight muscles.
Exercises:
Gentle stretches and nerve gliding movements ease pressure on the nerve.
Strengthening exercises restore hand and wrist function.
Lifestyle Changes:
Take breaks from repetitive tasks and rest your wrist.
Use wrist braces or adjust your workspace to reduce strain.
Prevention Tips For Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!
Maintain Neutral Wrist Posture: Avoid bending your wrist for long periods.
Stretching Breaks: Regular breaks to stretch and rest your hands during repetitive tasks.
Proper Ergonomics: Adjust desk height, keyboard placement, and use ergonomic tools.
